Introduction:

The exercises below focus on the uses and functions of the word classes adjective and adverb. While adjectives are typically used to describe a noun, adverbs are typically used to modify a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. Although adjectives and adverbs are used differently, learners tend to confuse them. Some of the exercices concentrate on problems related to the use of adjectives vs. adverbs. Others deal with adjectives and adverbs separately.

Aims:

The exercises aim to make you aware of special uses of adjectives and adverbs. By tackling various aspects related to these two word classes, you should also be better equipped to identify whether an adjective or an adverb is required in a given context.
